Bad Blood Book Review
Book #13: Bad Blood by: Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Overall rating: 10/10
For the purposes of this review, the novella included in the book, Twelve, will not be reviewed.
Bad Blood provided a great conclusion to The Naturals series. It hurts to say goodbye to the characters, but all good things must come to an end. It’s way more fast paced than the rest of the books in the series, in a good way, and there’s so many shocking revelations throughout the whole book. Bad Blood has come a long way from The Naturals, and it was fun to see the characters grow throughout the series.
In All In, Cassie had just found out the shocking truth about something in her life that she thought was a certain fact. She also discovered that there were people out there who were out to hunt The Naturals. In Bad Blood, Cassie has to find the truth about the group that is holding her mother captive. However, it may end up to be more dangerous than anything Cassie has faced before.
One thing that I appreciated about Bad Blood was that there was a solid ending. Pretty much all of the loose ends were tied, and I’m not guessing about what’s going to happen next. It’s sad, but the characters can’t always be The Naturals for the rest of their lives. However, I’m still really happy that there was a novella, Twelve, at the end of the book, and a new book coming out this year, so I can still enjoy the series!
There are honestly so many more plot twists in this book than the previous ones. I would never have expected some of the things that the story revealed. It’s the kind of book that you can’t just put down. The plot about the Masters and the Pythia was a bit complicated to understand at the beginning, but it became clearer as I continued on. Also, some parts of the book were kind of disturbing, but it wasn’t that bad.
The characters were absolutely amazing in this book! The relationship between The Naturals is really the epitome of found family. It’s felt even more strongly in this book than the rest.
Bad Blood is probably my favorite book in The Naturals. It’s just an absolute masterpiece! I’m so sad that the series is over, but at least there’s a novella coming out this year!
