All In Book Review
Book #11: All In by: Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Overall rating: 9/10
All In really improved from the previous books in The Naturals series. Sloane gets some much deserved attention in the books, and the setting of the book was amazing! An overhanging plot was also finally revealed towards the end! This book also has more of a cliffhanger than previous books, so I would recommend also having access to the next book in the series while reading this book.
In this book, the Naturals have to solve yet another murder mystery. However, this one is a bit different from the others. The killer only kills on “Fibonacci” dates and always kills in casinos in Las Vegas. However, there’s more to the story than just one murderer, and Cassie discovers a shocking truth towards the end.
One thing that I’m really happy about is that there’s an overhanging plot revealed towards the end of the story. In the previous two books, there wasn’t really a connection between the books… until now. Now, the conflict revealed will likely be the spotlight of the next book, which I can’t wait to read!
Sloane also receives a bunch of character development! She’s such an underrated member of the Naturals. To be honest, I’m quite glad for Sloane to be in the spotlight for this book. Her backstory was really interesting, and it helped me understand her as a character better. However, Sloane isn’t the only character being explored, however, and the book maintains a balance between all the different characters.
All In probably has the most suspense and mystery out of all of the books in the series this far. In the other books, the Naturals were simply observing from afar (most of the time), while in All In, the Naturals actually go to Las Vegas, and they are more involved than ever before.
The end of the book is the most impactful, in my opinion. While the rest of the book isn’t necessarily filler, the end was the most memorable part. It helped to set up the conflict for the next book, and it keeps us readers on our toes.
